About the Long Island Reads Committee
Long Island Reads is a project of the Nassau Library System
and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System. Staff from member public
libraries volunteer their time to serve on the Committee. Committee
work includes:
- selecting the book
- preparing materials for use by library staff members (a bibliography,
a list of
recommended programs, a web site, etc.)
- arranging a special event for the whole Island
- helping to promote Long Island Reads among other library staff
and the public
